A new conservatory prompted the clients to commission a design for their garden to re-define the space, create areas of interest and provide the sought after privacy, screening and softening. The design echoes the prominent angular shape of the new conservatory. A large terrace area adjacent to the house provides outdoor dining space. A second, smaller seating area was created under the privacy of a pergola which also gives a focal point from the conservatory.

A low retaining wall and steps separate the main terrace from the lawn. Generous borders allow for ample planting including a Prunus sargentii to give structure, spring blossom and autumn colour. Low voltage lighting including fibre optic lights set into the retaining wall give atmosphere to the garden from dusk and extend the use of the garden into the evening.
